This Acura vs. Lexus comparison is brought to you by the team at Ira Lexus of Manchester and may help you decide which brand you’d prefer to drive around the Bedford, Manchester, and Merrimack, New Hampshire, areas. Continue reading to learn more before browsing our inventory online!
Both brands enjoy continuous success and offer a number of impressive vehicles. Lexus offers 10 different basic models, while Acura has just five (not counting hybrids). Therefore, Lexus offers a much larger variety of options.
Both brands offer options in the sedan, coupe, and SUV body styles, with hybrid models available in all three categories. However, Lexus has six, while Acura has just three. If you’re looking to save some money at the gas pump, Lexus has more options for you to choose from.
Acura also does not offer a large SUV. If you’re looking to fit the whole family into your vehicle, you’ll want to look at the Lexus LX. According to studies, Lexus delivers some of the highest customer retention rates in the industry, likely due to the brand’s famously high reliability ratings.
As we mentioned before, Lexus has a wide variety of automobiles to choose from. Here’s a comprehensive list of what they have to offer:

Lexus and Acura have designed incredibly safe automobiles with features to help prevent accidents as well as ones to combat potential impacts.
However, when it comes to safety ratings, Lexus trumps Acura. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), five Lexus vehicles are deemed highly safe for drivers and their passengers:
This is partly due to the Lexus Safety System+ suite of driver-assisting technologies that comes standard in most Lexus models. Some features of the system include a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Intelligent High Beams.
Acura has its own impressive safety suite in its models. Unfortunately, just three vehicles received a top safety rating from the IIHS in 2021.
Additionally, Lexus offers more performance cars than Acura (four vs. one). How do the brands compare in more than just sheer volume? We’ll answer that question by looking at the Lexus LC vs. Acura NSX.
The Lexus LC comes with a 5.0L V8 engine that churns out 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Despite having so much power, the LC is quite fuel efficient. It achieves an EPA-estimated 16 city/25 highway MPG, ensuring your gas station stops will be minimal.*
The Acura NSX also offers impressive power ratings through its V6 engine. Unfortunately, the vehicle is not quite as fuel efficient. If your commutes are primarily on the open road, the EPA-estimated 22 highway MPG may not do the trick.
More people can enjoy the ride inside the LC, too. It seats four people, while the NSX only has room for two. If you decide to take a fun road trip, you may want to opt for the Lexus model—and not just for more seating. You’ll have 5.4 cubic feet of trunk space to take advantage of. The Acura, meanwhile, has only 4.4 cubic feet of cargo room.
If you’re seeking out the impeccable comfort and luxury of the Lexus and Acura brands, then we know you have a high standard that both brands not only seek to meet, but to exceed. Taking two of the top models in the lineups—the Lexus RX and Acura RDX SUVs—we’ll compare some of their standard features.
Whether you’re on your way to work or across the country for a family road trip, music keeps the trip going smoothly. To jam to your favorite tunes or learn something new with a podcast, you’ll have the following ways to listen:

You’ll also be able to keep up with your car’s inner workings by downloading each brand’s app—Lexus Enform and AcuraLink respectively—to your compatible smartphone. These will help you stay up to date with regular maintenance visits as well as allow you to operate your car remotely through your phone.
When it comes to being comfortable on your ride, you won’t go wrong with either of these top-of-the-line SUVs. The Acura RDX gives you a standard leatherette-trimmed interior, while the Lexus RX offers a standard man-made synthetic leather known as NuLuxe®. Since this is manmade with no animals harmed, this makes the standard Lexus interior vegan.
If it’s a rainy New Hampshire fall day with a crisp chill in the air, you’ll be excited to know both the Lexus RX and the Acura RDX come standard with dual-zone automatic climate control. That means there will be no arguing about the temperature, even if you like it warm and your copilot prefers it cool.
But what about the rain? Only the Lexus model has standard rain-sensing windshield wipers, so you won’t need to take your eyes off the road to flip on the windshield wipers during those seasonal showers.
